Prayer mixed with a little Ozzy

When I was getting out of the shower this morning, my husband rushed in and said, "Come here, you've got to hear this!"

I dried off and listened from my room to my son saying the sweetest prayers on his karaoke machine. It wasn't hard to hear since he had it turned it to the loudest volume setting.

I heard:
"Dear Jesus, Thank you for dying on the cross for me. You rose again and you love me...thank you. My mom likes roses and she saves them after they die! Oh and please bless 'Abensengya' (that's the little boy we sponsor in Africa). Give him a house with bricks instead of mud and sticks...oh please give him a garage door and food! He doesn't have food like I do because he's on the other side of the earth, where its dusty and dirty. But the moon is a dusty surface, and it's okay. Thank you, Jesus, Amen!"

I was amazed at his prayer and then all of the sudden he broke out in:
AAAAAlll Aboard! Haahaaahaaa! I-I-I-I....crazy train!

My husband has me set to Ozzy Ozborne on his cell phone, so when I call it rings that crazy song. It is apparently my son's favorite song right now.

I busted up laughing! Especially at the thought of Jesus 'rose' again and my son visualizing roses! Kids are so funny!

Kids are so sweet {and funny!}. Sorry I missed my faithful Friday this week. My hubby has a four day weekend so my days were all thrown off & I totally forgot. I'll be sure to do it next week though!

That is so cute...Saying about Jesus and roses...Kids are so cute...and maybe Jesus likes Ozzy too..so it's all good...

That's adorable! You should try and get that recorded... and play it on his 21st birthday party or graduation or something :) My son's current favourite song is "Happy birthday to you"...in Xhosa - He sings it all the time! Not quite as cool as Ozzy though ;P

I love it...my 15 year old who plays the guitar has just discovered Crazy Train. That is all we hear. I love your sons prayer.

I got this for Mother's Day along with a big three-ring binder of photos and artwork that my son has compiled all through PRE-K. It was the most touching gift he's given to date, in his five years. Even though his PRE-K teacher orchestrated taking all the pics through the school year and organizing all his artwork, it was still all my son's favorite pieces and shots. I loved it. a startling lesson

Okay, so I got a sex ed lesson this week from my almost 5-year-old. I know at this age kids are extremely interested in their bodies and the differences in them and the opposite sex. I think with boys...they are from birth to the grave....but I digress. He called me into the bathroom and said, "hey mom....um you know my hump?" (He calls his nads his hump, and I've never told him any other term) I nodded my head. He asked, "do you know it's a bucket of skin that holds my pee?" I raised my eyebrows and said, "No, I didn't know that." Okay...at this point I'm not going to correct him. I'm just gonna let him figure some stuff out on his own until "THE" talk comes at a later date. He got excited and kept going, " And you know what? " "What?" "When I'm older...I'll have hair on it too!" I almost fell to the floor at this one! "Ooooh really? Where did you hear that?"

Official start of MY Spring

Today is the day. My son gets to meet his Soccer coach and his T-ball coach this morning! It doesn't quite feel like Spring until he's in his soccer jersey running the field, well that and the frigid weather makes it not so springy. Is that a word? I think it's going to be better for me than him. Being cooped over the winter was harder than usual this year because he's gained another year and not as easily entertained. I can't just put a toy in front of him and expect him to marvel like he did when he was tiny. Now it's whining, "I want to doooo something" or "When can we go outside?" When that doesn't produce anything fun, it becomes silly name-calling or crying fits out of boredom to push my buttons. What he doesn't realize is that the silly name-calling gets to be worse.
