Thank You and Happy New Year

Every year seems to fly by at an alarmingly increasing rate. I know they say time flies but seriously wasn't it just December 2013?  There have been a lot of ups and downs in this last year, as I'm sure it was the same with most of us, but overall I consider myself truly blessed.

As this year passes in just a few hours, I want to express my thanks to those of you, who supported me with such sweet words and acts of support, with your emails and purchases of all three of my books.  As I look back to count my blessings from this year, I include my family and my friends, whom I include my readers.

In the coming year, I wish you nothing but peace as you forge forward into a new year.

FINALLY! I got a copy of Finding Kylie that I have been waiting forever, it seems, to read. Kimberly, I have to say, "You NEED to get a proof reader, and I'd be happy to be her"... with so many writing errors and I'm only on page 37 (2nd edition). I know I'm going to love the story, because I identify so much with Chastity, finding out in the summer between grades 5 and 6 that the dad who was raising us, was not our biological one.

Actually - I had one. The wrong version got uploaded. I took it down and had them upload the correct version. I'm so glad you're reading it - you made me smile tonight. Unfortunately mistakes happen and as I was releasing Coming Home, at the same time the 2nd printing came out for Finding Kylie, my focus was solely on Coming Home. Thankfully the correct version is up now. I'm curious - when when did you order it?

Thank you. I would hope that the correct version is what printed but it seems I need to double check that since you recently acquired one that still needs checking. I'm happy to replace your gift if needed. I'm sorry.

I got this for Mother's Day along with a big three-ring binder of photos and artwork that my son has compiled all through PRE-K. It was the most touching gift he's given to date, in his five years. Even though his PRE-K teacher orchestrated taking all the pics through the school year and organizing all his artwork, it was still all my son's favorite pieces and shots. I loved it. I love that he thinks I'm fourteen feet tall, which he says it's all leg by the way. He even drew me that way. I love that he remembers my age and my favorite color. a startling lesson

Okay, so I got a sex ed lesson this week from my almost 5-year-old. I know at this age kids are extremely interested in their bodies and the differences in them and the opposite sex. I think with boys...they are from birth to the grave....but I digress. He called me into the bathroom and said, "hey mom....um you know my hump?" (He calls his nads his hump, and I've never told him any other term) I nodded my head. He asked, "do you know it's a bucket of skin that holds my pee?" I raised my eyebrows and said, "No, I didn't know that." Okay...at this point I'm not going to correct him. I'm just gonna let him figure some stuff out on his own until "THE" talk comes at a later date. He got excited and kept going, " And you know what? " "What?" "When I'm older...I'll have hair on it too!" I almost fell to the floor at this one! "Ooooh really? Where did you hear that?"

Official start of MY Spring

Today is the day. My son gets to meet his Soccer coach and his T-ball coach this morning! It doesn't quite feel like Spring until he's in his soccer jersey running the field, well that and the frigid weather makes it not so springy. Is that a word? I think it's going to be better for me than him. Being cooped over the winter was harder than usual this year because he's gained another year and not as easily entertained. I can't just put a toy in front of him and expect him to marvel like he did when he was tiny. Now it's whining, "I want to doooo something" or "When can we go outside?" When that doesn't produce anything fun, it becomes silly name-calling or crying fits out of boredom to push my buttons. What he doesn't realize is that the silly name-calling gets to be worse.
