The Small Things That Make Me Smile

There are days when you truly feel God's presence and know He's answering prayer.  Then there are days when you are coasting, not really giving it much thought.  And... there are days when you're recovering from a huge trial and are emotionally spent. Yesterday, I prayed for God to restore my soul - as my day was about as bad as I've had since I was in college, where things got pretty rough in my walk.  Now, I'm not saying my walk was negatively affected yesterday.  What I'm saying is the devil was doing his best to shake me up and rattle my cage. And if my walk wasn't solid - my world could have turned upside down. Without giving you details (as they're a bit too crazy to post here) I will say that by the time it was all said and done - my head was spinning. I wondered just how in the world I'd gotten to where I was, and started on a slippery slope that led to a pity party for about twenty minutes. Until I realized, that God has everything un...

Pre-teen Years At a Glance

The first time I saw the angry face was when my child was only four days old. He was quietly sleeping in his hospital bassinet when we had some visitors stop by to see my new precious bundle of joy. I lifted him, laid him on his back, and rubbed his belly with my fingers.  And out came the face ... Who was once my happy-go-lucky child - is now smarting back and showing his independence in spades. But, through it all - he's the same giving, smart kid... who's l...

I promise I've not been out of commission just running around like crazy, which has kept me from sitting let alone blogging. Life since October has been overloaded with everything retail, as I took a full-time job. Unfortunately, this left me unable to creatively unload, which means I've not completely finished my sequel yet. But ... it's almost done. The only thing creative I've been able to do is to take some photography jobs here and there. I've not had much time off from retail-land to work on my company, but I still get enough work that I feel creatively charged. Here's an example of my last commercial shoot. This is one of many billboards that line the highways in Oklahoma City. I love that my work is posted up for everyone to see. Last week I had headshots for some actors who are talking to some L.A. casting directors for 'Sonny With A Chance'.  That was a treat to shoot those pics for their meeting. Next on the docket is a cale...
